Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative: 

Since 2004, we make the Büyük Konuk village a key point within our special group programs. We also support the Delcraft Centre and their activities. The villagers of this area, particularly the women, gain economic support through tourism by supplying traditional handicrafts and food to their warmly received guests of this tour.

While on the tour, you will have the opportunity to visit the Delcraft Centre, eating a delicious seasonal, home-made, vegetarian meal of "mezeler", a variety of dips served as an appetizer, and a main course. All vegetables that go into this special meal are cultivated in the Centre's own garden.

After your lunch, you have a chance to engage in some real hands-on education here and help the women in the production of their traditional Helim cheese. Then, roll up your sleeves and help them form loaves of their delicious bread. Taste your efforts, and know that your time here has been educational and mutually beneficial for everyone involved; your support by booking and participating in this special tour helps the villagers of the area, and you the get the utterly unique and special experience of seeing and tasting village life in this area of North Cyprus.
