The rise of a dream with coastal sea-views of the Karpaz
Built in 2005, the Balci Plaza, with its complex of twelve apartments (some single and others double), together with its restaurant, was the fulfilment of a dream by Mr. Balci (meaning 'bee') when he returned from abroad to his roots in the Karpaz.
From its inception it has proved popular with locals as well as tourists who return time and time again to this 'oasis' within the Karpaz region. Entering a tree lined drive from the main road. The feeling of being away from everything gradually engulfs the visitor as they begin their stay in one of the largest holiday sites on this part of the island. The beach was created for guests, and has a bar, sun loungers and parasols and is shallow and safe for children.
The block of apartments is away from the restaurant, and surrounded by grass, trees, and every kind of Mediterranean vegetation found elsewhere in the area.
The restaurant terrace is ideal for breakfast and evening meals where watching the sunset makes a perfect ending to a perfect day.
Hasan Balci and his staff offer a warm welcome and there is always someone on hand to offer that true Cypriot hospitality and to assist you to make your stay relaxing, comfortable and enjoyable.
This accommodation provider has taken action to address one or more issues (whether environmental, social or cultural) which will contribute positively to the long term viability of the destination and hence their site displays a Caring for the destination rating.
Main area of focus in Caring for the Destination:
Balci Plaza is an accommodation run by a local Karpaz family. In addition they grow a vast majority of their own food which they serve in the restaurant.
Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative:
The entire vast site which houses Balci Plaza has many trees, fruits and vegetables all planted by Mr. Balci, with new additions each year from palms to figs as well as colorful additions of geraniums and other flowers. All food cooked in the restaurant is grown on the premises and is in keeping with the eco-tourism of which the entire area boasts.
