Nostalgia Boutique Hotel is situated in two fairly adjacent buildings, one of which has a swimming pool enclosed by walls that contain the history of centuries. Both buildings are situated in the narrow winding streets of the old town of Kyrenia, which were contained in thick city walls of which little remains. The renovations were done to ensure that the ethnicity of the buildings remained intact. The 28 rooms (20 in one building, and 8 in another) are all individually designed, and some have four-poster beds, varying in style to cover the various periods seen from the original buildings. Each room is named after a Cypriot bird to remind you of the past as well as the present.
Small and friendly, with staff attentive to all your needs and who treat you like family, there is a sense of being ‘at home' as to whether in the antique memorabilia of the lounge, or the timelessness of the inner courtyard, one feels a part of the pulse of this historic town.
Situated in Kyrenia, just a few meters from the center with the municipality offices, surrounded by street cafes, Nostalgia Boutique Hotel has everything to hand - the beautiful harbour, Kyrenia Castle with the shipwreck museum, shops, restaurants, car hire, taxis, boat trips, money exchange, souvenir shops. Dolmus taxis go to several major towns, south, east and west, or individual taxis can take you to beaches out of town.
Situated within the old city walls (of which not much remains), Nostalgia Boutique Hotel is in one of the myriad of narrow maze-like streets which house history, from Roman Tombs to Venetian Castles, and nearby is the old covered market place now renovated and converted into tiny shops and a restaurant ,whilst a few metres away and over some cobblestones, the harbour opens out before you with its many small craft bouncing on the water, flags flapping in the small breeze almost proclaiming their joy at being in such a beautiful, ancient harbour. The adjacent mosque reminds everyone of its presence with its call to prayer.
Hotel Address: Kyrenia Old Town, Kyrenia
Depending on the time of arrival to Ercan Airport, it is possible to either hire a taxi, or take the airport bus. Taking the latter would involve a walk of some 100 metres to the hotel, with the added disadvantage of the timings of the buses not necessarily coinciding with arrival times of aircraft.
