From time to time artists from north Cyprus, Turkey and other countries have their exhibitions in the old cellar of the Bellapais Abbey. The Bellapais Festival takes place in spring from mid-April to mid-June and in autumn from mid-September to mid-October and makes for a great time to visit. Also, don't miss the International Famagusta Art and Culture Festival which takes place from mid-June until mid-September.
Anglican and Roman Catholic Church services take place in both Kyrenia and Famagusta, and occasionally in Greek Orthodox Churches in Guzelyurt and Karpaz .
Several markets take place on a weekly basis throughout North Cyprus. All of the markets are popular with locals and holidaymakers alike as you can purchase a wide variety of items including bric-a-brac, homemade cakes, art works, jewellery, and books, and all at a very reasonable price. For food lovers the weekly municipal markets which take place in Kyrenia, Famagusta and Güzelyurt are a must visit to see the fresh, seasonal fruit and vegetables on offer.

The North Cyprus Olive Festival takes place for a week in October. The small village of Zeytinlik is the host of the festival which is focused around locally produced olives and olive products. During the festival activities, shows and concerts together with demonstrations of Cypriot handicrafts are performed. Traditional food can be tasted and various products such as soaps and oils are available for sale.
